Camera ready art is referred to the artwork ready to be used for imprinting and that it does not require any extra work (except for re-sizing).
Preferred Format:
- For 1-color, or Multi-Color (spot color): EPS vector file (Adobe
Illustrator), PDF. Fonts must be converted to outlines. Make sure
you specify imprint color you wish (and PMS/Pantone number if needed).
- Full color process can usually be in major formats: PSD, EPS, PDF,, ... 1/8" Bleed allowed; which means you should extend your background (but NOT the important information) 1/8" on each side, so when it is cut, it covers the "entire" area. 300 dpi, CMYK.
HINTS
- Faxes, business cards, and low
resolution photocopies are not camera ready. Images
in MS Word are usually not 600 dpi or 300 dpi, and not useful. Images on
internet are most likely in 72 dpi and not useful.
-
EPS image must be CREATED in vector file (i.e., created in Adobe
Illustrator). Importing a non-vector image (such as JPEG, TIFF) to EPS and
then saving it as EPS does NOT make it an EPS file.
